RUE Tolochin tinned food factory is located in the southern part of Vitebsk region Tolochin district in the village of Ozertsy, near the river Khvoshch. The occupied area is 6 hectares. It is the oldest Belarusian enterprise. From the sources of the national historical archive it is known that the factory was founded by the landlords Gazdzitsky Joseph Norbertovich and Zembinskaya Augustina Norbertovna in Ozertsy estate, Orsha district, Mogilev province. The distillery operated 167 days a year, only 6 men worked, there was one steam engine.
In 1898 Joseph Gazdzitsky built a steam sawmill and a starch factory in Ozertsy estate.
Until 1935, the factory produced jams, marmalade, fruit juices, purees and syrups. In the same year the factory started production of fruit wine, which was poured in barrels.
During the Great Patriotic War the factory was on the territory occupied by the Germans and was partially destroyed.
In 1946, the factory began bottling fruit and berry wines, but during the anti-alcohol campaign, since 1985, the volume of wine bottling was reduced, and the production of fruit and berry juices in 0.5 liter bottles began. The factory was renamed from a winery to a cannery.
Since 1994, the canning factory stopped production of fruit juices and now produces only fruit and berry wines.
The territory of the factory includes main and auxiliary shops. The main workshops are: fruit and berry raw material processing and storage of wine materials shop, the blending and filtration shop, bottling workshop №1 №2.
The shop for processing raw materials and storage of wine materials was built in 1965. In 1978 the raw material processing shop was reconstructed. The raw material area was converted into a hopper for apple reception, a hydraulic apple feeder was installed, two new apple processing lines and one berry processing line were installed. The building of the workshop of processing of raw materials was also reconstructed; the walls of the building were raised on 1 meter and 80 cm above, which made it possible to install technical tanks in 2 tiers and to make a fermentation room for fermentation of fresh juices and a room for cultivation of pure culture of yeast. In 1973 a distillery was built for alcohol storage.
Bottling workshop №1 and the container warehouse adjoining it on one side were built in 1960. Later on, the shop was reconstructed several times. It was equipped with a pressure compartment for pouring wine into bottles, the washing room was moved into a separate room, an acid wash for particularly dirty dishes was installed before the alkaline washing of bottles, and a wine bottling line was installed with a capacity of 6,000 bottles per hour.
In 1990 a new bottling workshop №2 was built, it was joined by a new container warehouse and a new warehouse for finished products. Further, a new wine bottling line with the capacity of 6 thousand bottles per hour was installed in the shop instead of a hot juice bottling line. Auxiliary shops do the material and technical maintenance of the main production.
At present the company produces 62 names of fruit wines, including 26 wines of improved quality. Besides, in 2008 the enterprise started to produce fruit and berry natural table wines (7 names). The capacity of the enterprise is 846 thousand deciliters of wine per year.
Since 2000 the company has participated in international wine competitions in Yalta, Moscow, and Minsk. In total the company has 51 medals, among which 36 gold medals, as well as diplomas of the contest-tasting of GUST.
In 2002, a network of own branded stores, with a total of six items, was created. In the same year, Tolochin starch factory was attached to the enterprise in the process of reorganization. 500 hectares of potatoes of 15 varieties were planted, including elite varieties of potatoes for sale.
In 2005, the enterprise began production of grape wines. A room for storing grape wine materials before bottling was equipped. A refrigeration unit was installed, which maintains the temperature in the room at -2 C. A rinser and a monoblock for bottling and capping of bottles, a universal capping machine for capping bottles with cork is installed in shop № 1 for bottling of grape wines. The capacity of the shop for the production of grape wine is 50 thousand dekaliters of wine per year.
In February 2005, Gorodok food plant,specializing in the production of sweets "Korovka Gorodokskaya", "Stukalochka stick", "Pencils", "Peanut brittle", mustard, mayonnaise, soft drinks, was attached to the enterprise.
In the same year the company was allocated 580 hectares of land for the establishment of an industrial fruit and berry orchard of intensive type.
Such crops as apples, pears, black and red currants, gooseberries, raspberries and chokeberries were planted.
In 2006 a new alcohol storage facility was put into operation for reception, storage and release of rectified ethyl alcohol.
In October 2006 the staff celebrated the 100-th anniversary of the enterprise.
In 2008 a grain dryer was built.
In 2009 two fruit storage for storage of apples, as well as reconstruction of the processing shop of fruit and berry raw materials were built.
During the period from 2010 to 2015, the following activities were carried out:
- a 0.75-liter bottling line with a screw cap was installed;
- 2 grain dryers were built;
- 2 potato storage facilities with 12 thousand tons of potatoes each were put into operation;
- In December 2015, the facility construction of juice bottling plant in Ozertsy was launched;
- reconstruction works and re-equipment of the potato starch production shop were started;
- apple sorting line was purchased and installed;
- the enterprise created a bee apiary.
In 2012, the administrative building was reconstructed.

Today the capacity of the enterprise allows producing 60 thousand dekaliters of grape and 810 thousand dekaliters of fruit and berry wines and 1.0 thousand tons of starch per year. Assortment list of alcoholic beverages is more than 60 items.
The company uses only natural domestic raw materials for production, including those grown in its own orchard. The industrial orchard was planted on an area of 527.9 hectares, on which apples, pears, black and red currants, gooseberries, raspberries, blueberries are grown. Strict quality control of products is carried out by the laboratory.
The company regularly participates in international and regional specialized exhibitions. Wines have more than 60 awards, including more than 50 gold medals.
On the domestic market the company sells potatoes, fruits and berries of own production, fruit and natural wines, potato starch. More than 50% of the starch is exported to the Russian Federation.
The enterprise has 7572 hectares of agricultural land, including 6362.5 hectares of arable land.
